OUTLINE:
Poleke is about to leave elementary school and some aspects

many changes and concerns, Poleke finds refuge in poetry and
in her little calf. She knows that with a smile it’s always possible
to confront the difficulties in life.
AUTHOR PROFILE:
Guus Kuijer
was a professor for six years, but since 1973, after
publishing his first book, he has dedicated himself to writing
full time. His work has won several awards, including the
Astrid Lindren Memorial Award, and has been nominated for
