Every year, Ediciones Castillo’s list is enriched with new works directed to all

groups of readers. New titles by Mexican authors, such as Toño Malpica, Javier

Malpica, María Baranda —

FILIJ

2017 Children’s Laureate—, Juan Carlos

Quezadas, Juan Palomino, Martha Riva Palacio Obón, Vivian Mansour, Mónica

Brozon, Judy Goldman, Jennifer Boni, Javier Peñalosa, Carlos Alvahuante and

Ale Barba have been included in 2017. The number of international authors of

great prestige with titles of remarkable literary and graphic quality is also

growing. Among them are Frances Hardinge —winner of Costa Award 2016—,

Mirjam Pressler —finalist for Hans Christian Andersen award 2016—, Max

Bolliger, and Constanze von Kitzing. We also publish new books by authors

who are already familiar to our readers: Kitty Crowther, Guus Kuijer, Ana

Maria Machado and Colas Gutman.

The development of reading skills is a constant and ongoing task. The search

for literary experiences requires that we, as publishers, produce works and

resources that accompany readers in their formative stages and nurture their

interests. We are convinced that discovering a good book will lead readers to

new unanswered questions and, in turn, toward new books.
